Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
The short version
- No account, no name, no email address needed.
- Player names you type stay on your phone.
- When you use Say, your text is sent to an AI service to create your games.
- We collect anonymous usage data to improve the app. You can turn it off in Options.
- We don't sell your data and we don't track you across other apps.
Who we are
Say n Play is made by Vicky Games in Gothenburg, Sweden ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data described here. Contact us at info@saynplayapp.com.
What stays on your phone
- Player and team names, your saved crew and game settings.
- Your answer to the 18+ question and the Family Filter setting.
- A count of how many AI games you have used, shown in Options.
This is stored only on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Say (AI games)
When you tap Generate, the text you typed or spoke is sent to our server (run on Cloudflare) and passed on to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI, which writes your game suggestions. Please don't put names, addresses or other personal details in your Say text.
- Our server does not save your text. It only forwards it and sends the answer back.
- Anthropic processes the text to create the answer. Under its terms for business customers, it does not use this text to train its AI models and keeps it only for a limited time. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- To keep AI use fair, the app sends a random ID made for this app on your phone. Our server uses it only to count how many AI games are used per day and month. It is not linked to your name, your Apple ID or anything else about you, and old counts are deleted automatically.
Voice input
If you tap the microphone, the app uses Apple's speech recognition to turn your voice into text. Audio may be sent to Apple for this, under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive or store your recordings. The app asks for microphone access the first time you tap the mic, and you can change this any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Anonymous usage data
To see which games are played and where the app needs work, we use PostHog, with data stored in the EU. This includes things like which game was opened, which settings were used and whether a Say worked. For Say, it also includes the text you typed, cut to 200 characters, with email addresses, links and phone numbers removed, so we can see what kinds of games people ask for.
- It never includes player or team names.
- It uses a random ID for the app on your phone, not your identity. We do not build profiles of people.
- You can turn it off at any time: Options > Share usage data.
Music Battle
If you connect Spotify or Apple Music, the app asks that service to play songs during the game. You sign in with them directly. We don't receive your password or listening history. Their own privacy policies apply.
Purchases
Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app whether you have Premium.
Age check
Some game levels are for adults only. Where the law requires it, the app may ask Apple for your age range. The answer is used on your phone to unlock or lock those levels and is not sent to us.
Legal basis (GDPR)
- Say and the AI use counter: to provide the feature you ask for (contract).
- Usage data: our legitimate interest in improving the app. You can object at any time by turning it off in Options.
Who else handles data
Only the service providers named above, which act on our behalf: Cloudflare (our server), Anthropic (AI) and PostHog (usage data), plus Apple, Spotify and Apple Music for their own services. Some may process data outside the EU, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell your data.
Children
Say n Play is made for groups, families and adults. Adult levels are locked behind an 18+ check, and the Family Filter hides all adult content. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of your data, and object to our use of it. Because we don't know who you are, the easiest way is: turn off usage data in Options, and delete the app to remove everything stored on your phone. For anything else, email info@saynplayapp.com. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
Changes
If we change how the app uses data, for example by adding ads, we will update this page and the date at the top.
